Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology firm serving insurance and highly regulated markets, has today announced the appointment of John Salt as Group Chief Product Officer.
In the newly created role, John will lead the investment and development of Davies’ claims technology products while also leading its global team of product owners, software engineers, software architects and associated development roles.
Having previously served as Chief Information Officer for Davies’ UK and Ireland business unit, John joined Davies in 2020 through the acquisition of its legal solutions arm, Keoghs, during which time he has led the development and launch of new claims technologies as well as the incorporation of AI features for clients. Prior to this, John held senior technology leadership roles in claims and legal organisations across the insurance industry.
The new Group Chief Product Officer role joins a strengthened senior technology leadership team which also includes Paul O’Brien who was appointed as Davies’ first Chief AI Officer in 2024. Davies’ wider global technology team is focused on accelerating the rollout of GenAI features across Davies’ claims technology product suite, as the firm continues to increase investment to deliver its Vision 2030 strategy. The strategy is built around four growth pillars: accelerated AI and technology investment, operational excellence, geographic expansion and expanding new solutions for its clients.
Dan Saulter, Group CEO, Davies said: “We are committed to investing in top talent as we accelerate our technology and innovation agenda and leverage our global resources. By strengthening our technology leadership team we’re ensuring our clients benefit from leading-edge solutions as we continue to grow our services globally. John’s experience across technology and the global insurance market means he has deep insight into the challenges facing insurers in today’s market.”
John Salt, Group Chief Product Officer, Davies said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to help steer our significant investment in our claims technology product suite as we seek to innovate for the future. Our immediate focus will be prioritising new technology products for clients and to drive simplification and automation within claims processing.”
The announcement marks the latest step in Davies’ Vision 2030 strategy, spearheaded by Group CEO, Dan Saulter.
